Quick designer based usage with the flexibility of code-behind access

RapidSpell Web .NET adds spell check functionality to your ASP.NET web applications and CMS. Simply drag-and-drop onto your aspx page (Web Form) in Visual Studio or directly access the classes in a code behind page. No programming skills are required to use RapidSpell Web .NET, with it's strong Visual Studio design time support, making this control accessible to ASPNET page designers.

All the features of a regular Windows spell checker

The UI provides all the usual features, add (to user dictionary), change, change all, ignore, ignore all, and smart suggestions. The user dictionary is stored on the server and can be unique per user, or shared amongst groups. The spell checking UI features an advanced preview pane to interactively highlight errors (with no post back), and accepts manual corrections.

Comprehensive ASP.NET text box support (plain, rich, custom)

Spell check any server or client side text boxes: <asp:textbox>, any Html text box component such as <textarea> and <input type='text'> and 3rd Party controls, such as Dart's ASP.NET PowerWEB TextBox, 'pinEdit' from Pintexx, 'HtmlTextBox' and more. The custom client side interface mechanism allows interaction with practically any component, for example flash based text boxes.

Minimum base browser requirements

RapidSpell Web .NET works in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari. It uses only HTML and Javascript, this means there are no special requirements, plugins, or long downloads, as with some spell check server controls.

Minimal application footprint

By adding 2 <script src...> tags you automatically configure the spell checkers (as you type + dialog) to work with all text boxes in the form. Specific text boxes can also be ignored using nospell attributes or the Javascript API.

Inline (as you type style) spell checking

RapidSpellWInline provides a Windows style in-text-box spell check control, with editable text box support for modern browsers and static 'overlay' support for older browsers. AJAX is used to highlight spelling errors within the text box.

Traditional spell checking dialog box

The RapidSpellWebLauncher control provides a traditional dialog (modal/non-modal) spell checker. The preview box displays the context of each sentence while misspelled words are highlighted and underlined.

Open API, for customization and non GUI usage

Use the open API to customize core behavior, allowing you to meet the individual needs of your ASP.NET web application, eg;

• User dictionary behavior - eg. change the way the user dictionary is persisted (databases, Cache etc)
• Parser behavior - eg. use UI as an offensive language checker
• Custom ignore patterns

The included non GUI component provides core spell checker functionality through the RapidSpellChecker class, which means it is suitable for ASP.NET server applications as well as any console application. Handles 100K+ words per second on average hardware.
